Wyman "Butch" Perley Allen, 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday April 28, 2026 at the UVM Medical center in Burlington. He was born on July 1, 1955 in Hardwick to Perley Henry and Ida Elida (Ewens) Allen.
Wyman attended Hardwick Academy and was a graduate of Hazen Union High School, Class of 1973. He held a variety of jobs including Head of Maintenance at Cabot Creamery, and a Welder for Agri-Mark and Tenco. He was known as an all around Handy-man and mechanic for small engines. In his earlier years he enjoyed his riding horses and winter sleigh rides. More recently he enjoyed camping with friends and relatives.
He is survived by his children Wyman Norman (Mary) Allen, Derek William Allen, Desiree Lynne Allen and Darcy Allen, his brothers Perley (Lottie) Allen and Stanley (Debbie) Allen, his sisters Paula Allen and Madeline (Dale) LaRose and Molly (Jeff) LeCours, 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
