Sylvia Jean (Pierce) LeRiche

Sylvia Jean (Pierce) LeRiche, 82, of Morrisville passed away peacefully on October 9, 2023 at The Manor Nursing Home in Morrisville, VT.

Sylvia is predeceased by her husband, Ben LeRiche. She is survived by her daughter Lisa Johnson and husband Doug, her son Benoit LeRiche II and wife Diana, grandchildren Stephanie Tetreault and husband Nick, their children Tanner, Bentley and Hunter, grandson Michael LeRiche and wife Jessica and their daughter Natalie, Cynthia Bryer and her son Shaun Bryer, Kristen Walters and husband Chase and their son Alexander.

She was born June 9, 1941 to George and Shirley Pierce in Morrisville, VT. She graduated from Vermont School of Cosmetology and then married her husband on September 1, 1962. Sylvia was a beautician for many years and had most of the town of Wolcott sitting in her beautician chair including her now son-in-law when he was a young boy. Her granddaughter, Sephanie followed in her footsteps and became a hair stylist like her Mimi. Sylvia also enjoyed going for a drive and dining out. She helped on their dairy farm and was wonderful in the kitchen.

Sylvia’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the center of her life, spoiling them as much as she possibly could. She was the most kind, generous and loving person who was always smiling and could light up any room she walked in. Lisa and Ben and their friends remember riding around in the big Lincoln with the sunroof open, getting showered with snacks, going to concerts in Montreal, frequent trips to the snack bar, many, many pool and birthday parties and snowmobiling. It was always fun hanging out with Sylvie!!

She spent the last three years at The Manor Nursing Home where she participated in all the activities, socialized with everyone and loved hearing the singers, especially Sergio. All the staff just adored her and in return she loved them. She was so happy to be there and her family was overjoyed to have her in such a wonderful place.  

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, October 21st at 1 pm in the Taylor Cemetery on the Gulf Road in Wolcott.  A luncheon will follow at the Charlmont Restaurant in Morrisville.
