Suzanne Marie (Roy) Jones

Suzanne Marie (Roy) Jones, 75, of Hyde Park, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025, at The Manor in Morrisville, VT.  Suzanne was born on January 23, 1950 in Stowe, VT to Lewis and Phyllis (Touchette) Roy.  Suzanne was the second of four siblings, Gloria Frost, Edward Roy, and April Auclair. On June 23, 1967, Suzanne married her devoted husband, Kenneth E. Jones.

Suzanne is survived by three daughters and their families, MIchelle Draper and her husband Darron; Beth Kabert and her husband Ernie; and Holly Paquin.  Suzanne also leaves behind three grandchildren, Nicholas Draper, Erin Kabert, and Jasper Turner.  Suzanne was predeceased by her parents; husband, Kenneth; and her loyal canine companion, Andy.

Perhaps best known as the go-to lady at Aubuchon Hardware in Morrisville, VT, Suzanne was a fixture at Aubuchon’s for 30 years until her health forced her to retire.  Suzanne continued to work well beyond her retirement years because she loved her many customers who, over the years, became friends.  Many will remember Suzanne as someone who was quick to initiate 
some good-humored ribbing or share in the occasional off-color joke.

Suzanne was truly a devoted mother and grandmother and skilled homemaker.  Not one to remain idle, her family and friends were often the recipients of Suzanne’s hand crocheted mittens and slippers or home baked pies and bread.

Her children would like to acknowledge and thank dear friends and family whose kindness and generosity made it possible for mom to live independently until recently, the Ring/Davis family; Larry Brown; Jeremey Tatro and family; Linda Clark, Denise Ballard; and so many other neighbors, friends and coworkers.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday April 13th from 1-3pm with a funeral service beginning at 3pm, at the des Groseilliers Funeral Home, 97 Church Street in Hardwick, VT.  A spring graveside service will be held at the Plains Cemetery in Hyde Park, VT, on May 27th at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Suzanne’s memory to the Lamoille Valley Veterinary Service or the North Country Animal League.
