Sarah Elizabeth Goldberg, 34, of Morrisville VT, passed away on April 4th, 2026, in Wolcott VT. She was born on January 5th, 1992, in Somers Point NJ, to Michael and Marybeth Goldberg. Sarah was always an adventurous free spirit, searching for her way in this world.
She graduated from Absegami High School in 2010 and briefly attended Florida International University. She went on to attend Rizzieri Aveda School from 2012-2015 and completed her certifications for both Esthiology and Massage Therapy. Constantly searching to find her true self, Sarah realized that this was not her purpose. She knew that she belonged in the great outdoors and ventured to Vermont. There she attended Sterling College and graduated with a degree in Biocultural Restoration. She worked on the farm in the warmer months and was a snowboard instructor at Smuggler’s Notch in the winter.
Sarah, being the free spirit, she is, decided to spread her wings and go out west. She became an instructor and staff manager for Deer Hill Expeditions. Working in the field, she was able to take many teens on adventures on the Colorado River. Many have told her that it was life-changing for them.
Sarah eventually returned to Vermont, where she felt led to finally put down her roots. She was currently working for Mt. Mansfield Academy as an administrative assistant. She was also working for her Masters in Environmental Studies at Prescott College. Sarah lived life to the fullest. She was an avid paddler, hiker, climber, snowboarder and mountain biker.
Sarah is survived by her parents Michael Goldberg of Riverview FL, Marybeth Goldberg of Hammonton NJ, her grandfather Herbert Goldberg of Pinellas Park FL, her Aunt Shari Goldberg of Elwood NJ, the absolute love of her life Will Shinn of Jeffersonville VT, her childhood best friend, her constant, Jen Ljoka of Mays Landing NJ, her brother Randy (Sara) Wetzel of Hammonton NJ, and her sister Bethany (James) Scheuermann of Egg Harbor NJ. Sarah also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews, TJ, Ryan, Alexandra, James, Anna and Mia.
Sarah is predeceased by her grandparents George and Mary Stroup, Diana Goldberg and her Aunt Cynthia Stroup.
Sarah will be dearly missed by so many. She touched the hearts of everyone she met and had the most amazing circle of friends in NJ, VT and CO. Her friends and community meant the world to her. Sarah’s purpose and light will continue through them.
