Ronald Audet, Jr. Obituary

Ronald R. Audet Jr., age 63, of Johnson, Vermont, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.

Ron was born on November 19, 1962, in Morrisville, Vermont, to Ronald R. Audet Sr. and Marion Audet. He grew up alongside his siblings, Thomas Audet, Lisa Audet, and Alan Audet. During his childhood, Ron shared a special bond with his uncle, Gene Carriere, whose relationship with him was much like that of a father and son. He also maintained a close relationship throughout his life with his uncle, Roger Audet, with whom he regularly kept in touch.

Ron attended Peoples Academy and graduated with the Class of 1980. Following graduation, Ron enlisted in the Vermont Army National Guard, where he proudly served his country for 22 years, retiring with the rank of First Sergeant. He also joined the Morrisville Fire Department, serving for more than a decade and achieving the rank of Captain.
In 1987, Ron married Stacey Audet, and together they welcomed two sons, Ryan and Adam. Although Ron and Stacey later separated, they remained on good terms and shared a mutual commitment to their family.

In 2015, Ron married the love of his life, Janice Bradley. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another. Their relationship was founded on mutual respect, understanding, and a deep appreciation for each other's strengths. Through life's challenges and triumphs, they stood side by side, always encouraging one another and sharing in every adventure. Janice was not only Ron's wife but also his closest friend, confidante, and greatest supporter. The bond they shared was evident to all who knew them, and the love they had for one another remained constant throughout their years together.

Ron began his career with Country Home Center, where he worked for 17 years. Determined to pursue his dream of law enforcement, he attended the Vermont Police Academy in 2001 and became a full-time officer with the Lamoille County Sheriff's Department. During his 13 years with the department, he rose through the ranks and served as Lieutenant before leaving in 2014 to join the Morristown Police Department. There, he continued serving the community that helped raise him and held the rank of Sergeant until his passing.

In 1996, Ron also began a distinguished 24-year career as a Deputy Warden with the Vermont Warden Service. During that time, he was mentored by Dennis Reinhardt, who became a lifelong friend. Ron greatly valued his years with the Warden Service and the many friendships he formed with fellow wardens. Since 2011, Ron helped shape the future of law enforcement in Vermont by assisting with nearly every class at the Vermont Police Academy, mentoring and training new generations of officers.

Throughout his life, Ron earned many titles, ranks, and certifications. However, the titles he treasured most were Husband, Dad, and Papa.
Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time at deer camp, operating his lumber mill, woodworking, and caring for his dogs. Above all else, he cherished the time he spent with his family.

Ron is survived by his beloved wife, Janice Bradley of Johnson; his first wife and the mother of his children, Stacey Audet of Morrisville; his son Ryan Audet and his girlfriend, Becca Hardy, of Morrisville; his son Adam Audet and his wife, Andrea Audet, of Elmore; and his cherished grandchildren, Owen Audet and Jessa Audet, whom he loved more than life itself. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Audet of Enfield, Connecticut; his sister, Lisa Audet of Morrisville; his brother, Alan Audet, and sister-in-law, Kathy Audet, of Morrisville; his niece, Cally Audet; his nephew, Nicholas Audet; his niece, Kara Allen and his step-granddaughter Hailey Lynch, all of whom he was incredibly proud. He is further survived by many extended family members, friends, fellow officers, firefighters, wardens, and military brothers and sisters. Ron was predeceased by his parents, Ronald R. Audet Sr. and Marion Audet, and by his brother-in-law, Keith Allen.

In accordance with Ron's wishes, services will be private. Memorial donations in Ron's memory may be made to the Lamoille Valley Fish & Game Club.
