Marlene Kran, 63, of Denver, Pennsylvania, entered into perfect communion with her Savior,
joining her husband in heaven on October 12, 2024. A resilient and caring mother, and
grandmother, Marlene will be remembered for her fun-loving, unfailingly positive and generous
nature, her strong desire for family unity and desire to see those she loved find joy in life.
Born on June 2nd 1961, in New Jersey, Marlene grew up with her 2 brothers Elwood and David,
along with a bunch of foster kids she helped care for while still in the home of her parents
Elwood and Alberta Bearce.
A woman devoted to faith, family and tradition, Marlene cared for her father until his passing and
then moved to be with extended family in Vermont, where while working for a caregiving ministry
met her husband, Jeffrey. She spent most of her career years as a stay- at- home mom, “chief
cook and bottle washer and chauffer” as she used to say, in Vermont, raising her children in the
nurture and admonition of the Lord. She also was a supportive and administrative partner to her
husband in church and Jewish ministry, and as the biblical figure of Ruth could truly say “Your
people shall be my people”. Later in life, she moved across the country to support his ministry in
Arizona and found joy in pursuing crafting and embracing the indoor air-conditioned, Lord of the
Rings marathoning life. After Jeffrey’s death she moved to better weather in Pennsylvania,
close to her mother and younger brother and a bit closer to family to enjoy being a grandma.
Marlene is survived by her mother Alberta Bearce, Brothers David Bearce and Elwood Bearce,
her 5 children Ariel Kran with wife Katelyn and Daughter Eliana, Rivkah Kran, Yosef Kran,
Devorah Kran and Gavriella Bradley, along with her husband Jordan and Son Efraim. She was
preceded in death by her beloved husband Jeffrey Kran who passed December 17th 2021. His
family members, Jodi and BJ Hudak and Herb Kran also survive her.
A service to celebrate Marlene’s life was held on October 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Wilson
Cemetery in Barre, VT. Any remembrances can be sent to her children at 1292 Horning Rd.
Denver, PA 17517.
