Mark John Young

Mark John Young, 61 of Morrisville, died on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 surrounded by his loving family, after a tragic accident on the farm.

Mark was born in St Albans on October 25, 1962, to John & Barbara Young. He spent his childhood on the first family farm in Cambridge, VT. He attended school at Cambridge Elementary, then Lamoille Union High School, where he was awarded his GED at 16 so he could work full time on the family farm. Mark had many lifelong friends but his teen years were spent with his best friends Eric, Fred, and Troy.

Mark got together with Lynda Baker on May 2, 1986. They created a home in Hyde park, raised their children, and worked the farm for 22 years together. Then on October 20, 2007, Mark and Lynda married and shortly after moved to the home farm in Morrisville.

“When you do what you love, you never work a day in your life.” Is what he believed. Mark’s first love was working his farm. Alongside his parents, wife, children, and his best friend, business partner, sister, Mary Young. Mark was very proud of his farm giving tirelessly, endlessly, and selflessly everyday of his life. Over the years the family farm earned several awards for milk production and quality.

Mark was a simple man. He had a love of fast cars, Ford tractors, and an ice cold Budweiser under his favorite shade tree. Mark spent his days with his family and cruising the farm on his ranger with his sidekick, Shadow. Mark was a master of many talents. He was curious, inventive, and a problem solver. He could make and fix anything. When he wasn’t farming you would find Mark fishing, snow-machining, riding

ATVs, making bonfires, having wiener roasts, gardening, hanging in the garage, shenanigans with Debbi, the occasional kickball game with his family, and giving high fives to his grandkids.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lynda L. Young and his faithful companion and sidekick, Shadow. As well as his three children with their families; son, Andrew Young and wife Mallory, son Matthew Young, and daughter Mallory Whitehill and husband Joshua. Four grandchildren, Isaiah Young, Piper Ellie Whitehill, Lennox and Murphy Young, as well as grandpup Kubota.

Mark also leaves behind his mother Barbara and husband Marty Warren. His sisters, Debra and husband Gerald Magnan, Mary Young and spouse Alan Ward, Mother in law Emma LaBree, sister and brother in laws, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, including a very special Aunt Lee.

He was predeceased by his father John G Young, father in law Douglass D Baker Sr, and many other family members.

There will be a Celebration of Life at the Young Family Farm on Saturday August 24, 2024 at 3 pm with a meal provided.
