Following a brief illness, Lynne Stevens Bell, 69, wife, mother and sister, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2024 at University of Vermont Medical Center. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Lynne was born on February 27,1955 to Almont and Marilyn (Wheeler) Stevens in Hardwick. She attended school in Hardwick, graduating from Hazen Union High School. She graduated from Champlain College in 1976 and began her 44-year career at Central Vermont Medical Center where she retired in 2020 as Lead Histologist.
She was an avid reader, quilter and die-hard Boston Red Sox Fan. She cherished her hometown friends and memories. During her career at CVMC, she formed deep friendships that lasted a lifetime.
She is survived by her husband and best friend, Bruce Bell, son Ian McCullough, whom she worshiped, daughter in law Abby and their daughter Sequoia. She held dear her relationship with Nikki White, her stepdaughter, and her extended family.
She was truly loved and respected by her younger sisters, Kim Greaves, Gayle Renaud and Susi Richardson and their families.
Lynne was predeceased by her parents, Almont (Buster) and Marilyn Stevens and her brother Brian Stevens.
In addition to her dual Irish citizenship, her love of Ireland will be honored where her ashes are scattered this fall near her family’s birthplace, County Down, Northern Ireland.
There will be no funeral service, but a special get together will take place for close family and friends to remember and honor Lynne.
