Lucien “Duke” Loura, 70, of Walden, VT passed away on February 24, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Duke loved tapping his toes while listening to music, going to concerts, hunting, summer BBQs at the lake with family, hot rods, and classic cars.
He proudly resided for more than 50 years in the log home that he built for his family.
Duke worked hard all of his life, with more than 30 years service as Road Foreman for the Town of Stannard.
He will be dearly missed by his family, who lovingly referred to him as “Grampa Duke”. He is survived by his three daughters: Willow Henry (husband Kevin), Brooke Medeiros (husband Andrew) and Amber Cutler (husband Travis), a cherished friend who was like a son, Aaron Smith, and his grandchildren: Dakota, Jaden, Sierra, Makennah, Tanner, Jo, Aubrey, and Elliot. Also survived by his parents: Edney Loura and Jean Draper, and his siblings: Diane Lewis, Allen Loura, Christopher Loura and Melanie Paine.
"Hey hey, my my
Rock and roll can never die
There's more to the picture
Than meets the eye
Hey hey, my my
Out of the blue and into the black
You pay for this, but they give you that
And once you're gone, you can't come back
When you're out of the blue and into the black
The king is gone but he's not forgotten."
~Neil Young
