Lisa Jane Russell

Lisa Jane Russell, 69, passed away on September 23, 2024, at the UVM Medical Center in Burlington, Vermont, following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Born on August 17, 1955, in Morrisville, Vermont, Lisa attended Stowe Elementary School and graduated from Stowe High School. Lisa was known for her kind and caring nature and her wicked sense of humor. Her apple pie was legendary, holiday dinners weren’t complete without a slice and will be missed by her family.  Lisa spent many years serving the community as a waitress at McCarthy's Restaurant and also worked at MSI in Morrisville and the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe.

Lisa cherished her family  and enjoyed spending time outdoors with them. Summers were spent swimming and enjoying barbecues at Spear's Pond, while winters were filled with cross-country skiing and sledding adventures. These moments were filled with laughter creating memories that her family will treasure forever.

Lisa is survived by her siblings, John Russell of East Montpelier, Gail Spear (Terry) of Stowe, Gary Russell of Craftsbury, and Jill Warner of Morrisville. She will also be  missed by her nieces, Kelley, Malinda and her children Jack and Vivian, and nephew Cole Warner of Hyde Park. Her best friend, Jon Hanson, along with several aunts, cousins, and many good friends. Lisa was predeceased by her mother, Joyce Snow Russell Boyce, and stepfather, Everett Boyce.

No services are planned at this time. Those who wish to honor Lisa's memory may make contributions to Lamoille Lacing Up for Cancer or a charitable organization of their choice.
