Larry Richard Obituary

Larry N. “Buzzy” Richard, 70, of East Hardwick, passed away on January 28, 2020 at his home after a long battle with cancer.  Larry was born in St. Albans, Vermont to Ester (Gaudette) and Gordon Richard on November 2, 1949.  He attended school in St. Albans, Vermont.  He married Linda Duprey on March 14, 1970 in St. Albans, Vermont.  Over the course of his life he worked for Cabot Creamery, Green Mountain Sanitation and as a school bus driver. An avid hunter and fisherman, there are few places in Vermont he had not explored. When he wasn’t in the woods hunting or on a lake fishing in his boat, he was cutting and splitting wood for the winter. He was always willing to lend a hand to a neighbor or tell a story to anyone who had time to chat.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents Ester and Gordon Richard.  He is survived by his wife, Linda of 50 years; his daughters, Chrissie Dumas and her husband Jeffrey of Northfield, Vt.; Bambi Richard of Troy, Vt.; Jennifer LaRochelle and her husband Less of Orleans, Vt.; and Leanna Richard of East Hardwick, Vt. Grandchildren, Alesha Sayers of Derry, Nh.; Tori Truax of San Francisco, Ca.; Jessy Truax of Orleans, Vt.; Amber Heilman of Vt., Daniel Heilman of Vt.; and Rebecca Comolli and her husband Brennan of Barre, Vt.; seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; a sister, Betty Clapper and two brothers Gordon Richard, Jr. and Gregory Richard. His sister-in-laws and brother-in-law, Carol Doner and her husband Peter, JoAnne Shedrick and her husband Carl, Robert Duprey, Jr. and his wife Sharon, Terri Goss and her husband Jack.
