Larry Gann Obituary

Larry W. Gann, 73, formerly of Florence, Az. and Hardwick, Vt. passed away on Thursday,  July 18, 2024 due to complications from Marginal Zone Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Larry was born in Birmingham, Ala. July 8, 1951.  At age 7 he and two of his biological brothers were adopted by Paul and Pauline Gann. Due to his father’s work the family moved often. One  move was to Westport, Ct. Once there Larry was sent to high school at Cutler Academy in Craftsbury, Vt. He fell in love with Vermont and after graduation and a short time in New York City, he returned and never left.

On June 30, 1971 he married Annette Renaud in Hardwick and they lived their lives mostly in the Hardwick area.

Larry worked various jobs ranging from route salesman for Cabot Creamery to power line construction.  Larry was an avid fisherman, card player, talented pool player and he loved to play horseshoes. Larry always loved books and often read 3 or 4 a week keeping the local library busy finding new books for him. After retirement he moved to Florence, Az and enjoyed playing bridge with his new park friends, going to the American Legion and the local casino.

Survivors include: his ex wife Annette Gann and sons Erik and wife Susanne, Nathaniel (N8) & friend Alyssa and Adam and wife Keira. Six Grandchildren: Walden, Deanna, Sadie, Ethan, Kassidy and Jayce Gann. One brother Bruce Gann and wife Tomi of Casa Grande, Az. and  sister Sandra  and husband Michael Corso of Ft. Myers, Fl.  He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

Larry was predeceased by his parents and brother Preston Gann.

A graveside service will be held on Aug. 3, 2024 at 2 PM at the Fairview Cemetery in Hardwick. It will be followed by a celebration of life at the American Legion Hall on Main St. in Hardwick at 3 PM.  All friends and family are welcomed.

In lieu  of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Caledonia Home Health Care and Hospice, 161 Sherman Dr., St. Johsbury, VT 05819.
