Jeffrey Moodie Obituary

Jeffrey Moodie, 66 of Craftsbury passed away at home with his family by his side after a brief illness on April 16, 2025. He was born January 5,1959 in Hardwick, VT to Leo & Wanita Moodie. He was one of 8 children.

Jeff was a logger, farmer, mechanic, lawn mower specialist. Most recently he worked for Lamoille County Mental Health, working with people with disabilities, a job he loved and talked of fondly. In 1975, in high school Jeff met Michelle Pisano, the love of his life. They were married on March 17,1979. They were married for 47 years. Family was everything to Jeff, and his greatest joy was being around his grandchildren and his great granddaughter, and being called Papa.

Jeff was a 'jack of all trades' and enjoyed chats in his garage while working on cars and lawn mowers. Jeff enjoyed hunting and snowmobiling with his family and going for drives. He could always be found in his garage or getting his Pepsi, scratch off ticket, or coffee at the local store. Jeff saw good in everyone and was only a phone call away for anyone in need, no matter what time it was or what day of the week.

Jeff and Michelle in recent years traveled to what Jeff said was a trip of a life time, to a dude ranch in Montana. Jeff went on a cattle drive, living on the prairie and learned to brand cattle. They also enjoyed trips to L.I New York, Florida, and Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

Jeff was survived by his wife Michelle of Craftsbury, his daughter Erica (David) Small of Derby, son Joseph of Craftsbury, son Adam of Morrisville. He is also survived by his granddaughter Jawzlin of Morrisville and great-granddaughter Kennedi, grandson Austin(Lynn) of Wilmington, Mass, granddaughter Ava (Brandon) of Hyde Park, sister-in-law Maria Pisano of Mineola, N.Y, daughter-in-law Ashley Trombly of Morrisville, brother Damon of Eden, sister Heidi of Lakeland, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Jeff was predeceased by his parents Leo & Wanita, sister Kelly, brother Brendan, brother Scott, brother Fabian, sister Jeni, and brother-in-law Sal Pisano.

A graveside service will be held on September 27, 2025 at 1:00pm at Branch Cemetery in Craftsbury on the Wild Branch Road. At that time his parents & brother Brendan will also be laid to rest together in the family plot. A gathering family and friends will follow at Jeff & Michelle's home on Black River Road. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Jeff's name to Lamoille County Mental Health, 72 Harrell Street, Morrisville, VT 05661.
