James Boyce Obituary

James (Jimmy) Allan Boyce, 66, died on July 17, 2024, in Burlington. He was born on Oct. 7, 1957 in Morrisville, VT.
Jimmy was a graduate of Peoples Academy in Morrisville and for a large part of his career, he was a healthcare professional known for his attentive care to those in need. Beyond his professional life, Jimmy was enthusiastic about gardening, cooking, and baking. His green thumb brought beauty to his garden, and his culinary skills brought joy to many tables. He also cherished his relationships, especially with his partner Jack and his cats, Granite, and TJ to name a few, who he considered family.
Jimmy is survived by his sister, Wanda Reen of Walden, sister, Jane Boyce of Essex, nephews and nieces Jerome and Melissa Reen of Milton, Matthew Reen of West Burke, Sean Reen of Burlington, Christoper and Sarah Mitchell of Milton, Thomas Mitchell and Jonathan Litt of San Francisco, CA and great-nieces and nephews, Kelsey J. and Alex Beaudry of Lyme, NH, Carlie A. Reen of Blacksburg, VA, Connor J. Reen, Milton, Haley Reen of Burlington, and Carter Cromie of Milton.
He was preceded in death by his partner, Jack Mitter of Essex Junction, father, Fred D. Boyce Jr., mother, Alberta E. Boyce, brother, Fred D. Boyce III all from Morrisville, brother-in-law, Jerome J. Reen Sr. of Walden, and niece, Christine Boyce of Charlotte, VA.
A memorial service will be held on August 2, 2024, at 10am at Pleasant View Cemetery, Washington Highway, Morrisville, VT. Arrangements are with the des Groseilliers Funeral Home in Hardwick.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jimmy’s name can be made to the Humane Society of Chittenden County at 142 Kindness Court, S. Burlington, VT 05403, in honor of Jimmy’s beloved cat TJ. They provided significant care and support to make TJ comfortable.
