Erma Mae (Guy) Perry

Erma Mae Perry, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in St. Johnsbury Center, Vermont, on August 25th, 1930, to William Guy and Beatrice (Cochrane) Guy.

Erma graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1948 and went on to receive a Bachelor of Education from Lyndon State College and began teaching at the Cabot Elementary School for the next 39 years. Erma later helped students in the Adult Education Program. 

Erma enjoyed and was very active in supporting community programs and activities, in recognition of doing so she received 5 awards for community service. Erma was a long-time and a well loved resident of Cabot and the United Church of Cabot. She was well known for her beautiful talent for playing the organ.

In 1953 Erma married Robert (Gus) Perry they shared 46 years together.  

Erma’s family and dear friends will miss her tremendously and will embrace the love, memories and moments spent with her.

Erma’s loved ones are her sons Allan Perry (Edie) and Tim Perry (Sabine), daughter in law Susan Perry, her grandchildren Lindsey Perry, Guthrie Perry (Amber), Melissa Jensen (Sam), Lance Perry (Christine), Katelyn Storie (Tim) and Ben Perry and 6 great grandchildren that she adored as well as her two “special nieces” Susan Noyes and Cynthia Stuart.

Erma was predeceased by her husband Gus Perry, son Paul Perry, sister Mildred Stuart and brother Murray Guy.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00pm on May 7, 2025, at the United Church of Cabot, a fellowship gathering will follow at the Willey Building. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the United Church of Cabot, 2 Common Way, Cabot, Vermont 05647.
