Elaine Marie (Martin) Brochu

On Sunday, September 22, 2024, Elaine (Martin) Brochu passed away at 54. She was born on April 18, 1970, to Harold and Florence Martin of Hardwick, VT. She graduated from Hazen Union in 1988 and attended the College of Cosmetology in Burlington. While living and working in Burlington, she met the love of her life, Paul Brochu. They married in Hardwick in 1992 and raised two daughters, Jessica and Camille. 

Elaine was a caring and compassionate soul. She could put anyone at ease and always saw the good in everyone. Her warm disposition served her well throughout her various careers. She worked as a hair stylist, bank currier, postal worker, and alongside Paul, ran the family business. 

She enjoyed playing cards and dice games, swimming, kayaking, and giving those who needed it a quick hair trim. She loved sports and never missed an opportunity to cheer on her daughters at their many events. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loved ones.

Her greatest accomplishment, and what she spoke about most, were her children, whom she was intensely proud of. Those who knew her well will remember Elaine for her deep love for family, warm smile, and welcoming nature. 

Elaine is survived by her daughters, parents, and siblings. She is predeceased by her husband and grandparents. 

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 13th from 2pm-5pm at the Elmore State Park Pavilion.
