Dean Lawrence Allen

We regretfully announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Dean L. Allen, 56, of Wolcott on October 9, 2023. Dean grew up in the Wolcott and Essex areas and attended Essex High School. His family is deeply saddened and shocked by his sudden death.

Dean entered the world on Friday, August 18, 1967 just in time for the weekend with a comb in his hair and ready to give the world a run for it's money. He loved to pop in his ear buds and crank up the rock and roll while casting a line into Wolcott Pond. Dean had his fair share of struggles and hardships in life, as we all do, but everyone who knew him knew that he was a good man with a huge heart and compassionate soul. He was a fun-loving and easy-going guy who could get along with just about anyone and never judged another regardless of their circumstances. Dean was also fond of and good with animals, especially his cat, Smokey, with whom he was very attached.

Dean was predeceased by his mother Gloria (Chainay) Allen. He is survived by his father David L. Allen, his daughter Alisha E. Allen, four brothers; Scott P. Allen, Clint R. Allen, Adam D. Allen, and Matthew Allen. Dean is also survived by his nephews Curtis Allen and Brian Maynard as well as an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Our lives will never be the same without Dean and we will forever love and miss him more than words can say.
