David Edgar Edwards, Jr.

David E. Edwards, Jr, age 79 of West Burke, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 9th at The Manor in Morrisville, Vermont. Dave was born in Chicago, Illinois to Jean and David Edwards. 

His childhood scrapbooks are filled with photographs of family trips and adventures with the Boy Scouts. He completed his PhD in Physics at the University of Illinois and conducted research at Brookhaven National Laboratory in NY for many years.  After working in the private sector in Boston MA, Dave retired and devoted his focus to conducting research on topics related to advanced computational mathematics.  He published and presented his work internationally, traveling to conferences in Hong Kong, Romania and Greece. More recently, Dave enjoyed long walks down country roads, indie films at the local theater and meditating with his Buddhist group.

Dave is survived by his children, Nancy and Brendan (Sarah), and his grandchildren, Elle, Cora, Savannah, and Gray, as well as many treasured friends in his town. The des Groseilliers Funeral Home in Hardwick is handling arrangements.  There will be a private burial this summer in the Northern Vermont area.
