It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Brian James Palmer, 59, originally from Morrisville, VT. He died after years of struggling with addiction on November 18, 2023.
He was born in Morrisville on Aug 9, 1964 to James and Deanna Palmer. Brian graduated from Peoples Academy.
Brian was a mechanic by trade growing up through the family business Palmer’s Inc., a well known, family-run business started by his grandfather, Howard, in Morrisville, VT. Even during high school, Brian missed many school days to work at the garage when his Dad, James Palmer, had a heart attack and couldn’t work. Brian attended college in Berlin, New Hampshire and later returned to work full-time at Palmer’s Inc. The entire Palmer family grew up inside that garage and Brian continued for many years working on cars and running the behind the scenes.
But he was so much more than that. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and good friend to those who knew him. He enjoyed being in the woods or out on a lake fishing. He had such a kind heart before the disease of alcoholism took over. During this time, we try to remember who Brian truly was before his struggle.
Brian was preceded in death by his father, James Howard Palmer, his mother, Deanna Smith Palmer and his Aunt Jean Smith. He is survived by daughter, Paige Marie Palmer, and son, Cole Brian Palmer. As well as his sisters, Debbie Palmer-Fagnant, Monica Morrissey, and Sheri Leigh, and brother-in law, Brian Morrissey. He is survived also by his Uncle David Smith and many other cousins/nieces/nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 9th at 2:00 PM at the United Community Church of Morrisville, 85 Upper Main St., Morrisville, VT. In lieu of flowers/gifts, any donation to help with funeral/preparation costs would be greatly appreciated. We have a GoFundMe page or contact Paige Palmer/Monica Morrissey for ways to donate.
