Benjamin Draper Obituary

Benjamin William Draper, 38, of Eden, Vermont passed away too soon.

Born to Dana and Margaret Draper of Hyde Park on April 26, 1986.

Ben graduated from Lamoille Union High School and GMTCC in 2004 from construction technology which led him to his love of carpentry and remodeling his home in Eden.  He took pride in every nail he hammered.

Ben loved working for a property management company called Vacasa.  He would travel around Lamoille County taking care of all their property needs.  He loved and took such pride in every detail working for this company.

Ben is remembered as a man who embraced life in all of its messy, beautiful complexities.  To know him was to be drawn into his orbit of humor, wit and sense of adventure.  Ben was a man who loved his family, music, motorcycle riding, hunting, fishing, animals, good laughs and the "MAN" upstairs.

Ben had a flair for expressing his thoughts and feelings with pen & paper which he mostly kept to himself unless you were lucky enough to catch him in the act.

His absence is a void that will never be filled, but his spirit will continue to shine through the pictures he dodged, the stories we tell, the memories we cherish and the laughter he so often brought into our lives.

From his Alfalfa Halloween costume to "I only have a check", to the party bus and lest we NOT forget NOT winning the "Golden Easter Egg", which he reluctantly relinquished to his sister Casey. Ben took great pride in showing up his older brother Buck with his ability to rip a 4-wheeler around on two wheels. Ben was the only one who could pull it off. He cherished his deep-sea fishing trips with his father, pumpkin carving parties with all the littles, campfires with all his "smores" lovers.

He loved making wooden signs for many occasions.  He had an uncanny love for animals, Lola and Rosco where the glue that held him together in many of his dark days.  Ben was our Dr. Dolittle.

Ben is survived by his parents Dana and Margaret (Peggy) Draper, son Dalton Draper, sister Casey Dewey and her husband, Josh and their daughters, Brooklynn, Harley, Allaynnah Margaret, his brother Kevin Blondin, niece Dezaray Draper, grandmother Christina (Reen) Tricomi, Auntie and Uncle, Jane & Darrell Draper, their daughters Christina & KellyAnn Draper, Aunt and Uncle Mary and William (Bill) Cafferky and their children, Alex, Sonny, Butch, Liam, Katie (Vazquez) Cafferky, Dylan, Ally, and Ethan Whipple and cousins Dillan Cafferky, Chad Drinkwine, Catina Brown, Cayle Drinkwine.  Uncle Donald Draper Jr., sons Sam and Zack, Aunt Dale (Draper) Blake, children, Tim Lowell, Kristy Robinson and Hollie Darling; and many many more Reen, Draper and Cafferky cousins near and far.

Ben is preceded by his brother Dana M Draper Jr., his maternal grandfather Santo Tricomi, his paternal grandparents Don and Liz (Hazel) Draper, his Uncle Christopher Cafferky, and Aunt Donna Drinkwine.
