Aaron Walter Cheney, a lifelong Vermonter, transitioned to the next life unexpectedly on October 31, 2023, at the age of 40, after suffering a heart attack.
Aaron is survived by his mother and step-father, Louise and Timothy Morrissey; his sister, Nicole Campbell; his brother, Spencer Morrissey; his mémère, Georgette Couture; his nieces, Shanae and Alicya Campbell; his great-nephew Dorrian English; his aunts and uncles, Laurie-Anne Couture and Richard Spiese, Mark Couture, David and Maureen Cheney, and Brian Cheney; and his best friends, Emily Manny and David Blanchard. He is predeceased by his father, Larry Weldon Cheney; his pépè, Normand Couture; his grandparents, George and Joyce Cheney, and his uncle George H. Couture.
Aaron was born abroad in Cirencester, England on April 25, 1983, while his father served in the U.S. Airforce at RAF Fairford. After moving back to Vermont at age two, Aaron grew up in between Morrisville and Stowe. He attended Peoples Academy and later made a career as a Night Auditor for various resorts. The life of the party, Aaron always knew how to make anyone feel welcome, even from his earliest days. Aaron enjoyed traveling, exploring the wilderness, and blasting deafening music wherever he was. Above all, Aaron is remembered for his bright smile and his fierce heart. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled to be held at des Groseilliers Funeral Home in Hardwick, on Sunday, November 5, 2023, with viewing and visitation hours between 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. A burial service will be held at Pleasant View Cemetery on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Flowers and condolences can be sent to des Groseilliers Funeral Home at 97 Church St. Hardwick, VT 05843
