Mary Jane Hodgdon, 63, passed away on December 14th at home surrounded by close family after a courageous battle with cancer.
The funeral services will be held at des Groseilliers Funeral Home in Hardwick on Saturday, December 28th at 11a.m. and officiated by Rev. Ernest Machia. A reception will follow at the American Legion, N. Main St. A graveside burial will take place in the spring at Wilson Cemetery.
Mary was born in Groton on June 16, 1956, the daughter of William J. Pickett Sr. and Eunice (Hosford) Pickett. She is survived by her husband John of 44 years, her four children Jeremiah, John Jr., Ilean, and Erica, her daughter in laws Jessica and Virginia, her seven grandchildren Alexis, Aysha, Tanner, Taylor, Luke, Emma and Jillian, her brother Ralph and sisters Hazel, Betty and Nancy. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
Mary married the love of her life John Hodgdon Sr. on March 1,1975. After raising their four children, Mary went back to school and completed three Associate Degrees at CCV. Mary was a devoted wife and mother and took immense joy in being grammy to her seven grandchildren. She loved hosting and cooking for family get-togethers especially around the holidays. Mom, a piece of our hearts go with you. Grammy, you will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
