WOODBURY- Louis P. Deschamps, Jr. (83) passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at the Maple Lane Nursing Home in Barton, VT. Louis was born September 1, 1935 to Louis Deschamps, Sr. and Olive (Dufresne) Deschamps in Woodbury, VT. He married Angeline Patoine and settled on the family farm in Woodbury. Louis enjoyed his years spent farming and raising cattle. He loved being in the woods, whether he was hunting or cutting pulp and firewood for extra income or spending time at camp with his family. He worked for many years as a mechanic for Rowell Brothers in Hardwick and generally enjoyed tinkering on machinery. Louis was also a smiling face at Aubuchon Hardware in Hardwick, always willing to take the time to treat his customers like friends.
Louis is survived by his wife of 57 years, Angeline (Patoine) Deschamps, their four children, Annette Rosa Deschamps (and David Bean), Lisa O. Deschamps (and partner Carl French), Ronald Louis Deschamps, Peter Henry Deschamps (and Samantha). He also leaves behind their grandchildren, Nate Louis Deschamps, Shaun Deschamps, Josh Backman (and Cisha), Renee, Kerri, Natalie, Hillary, and Sophia Deschamps, as well as 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Louis is also survived by two sisters, Cecile Brown (and Dick), Florence LeBlanc and was predeceased by brother Frank Kenneth Deschamps, infant brother Pierre Deschamps, and grandson Justin Weston.
A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10am at the St. Norbert Church in Hardwick. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
