Daniel Ernest Lloyd

Daniel Ernest Lloyd was born in Iowa City, Iowa Oct. 29, 1932, and lived in West Branch on the quarter section farm his grandfather had acquired. He and his two younger brothers grew up  on that farm knowing the hard work and the joys of farming.

Instead of staying and inheriting the farm, as the first-born son, as his father had, he decided to head off to Cornell College to get a teaching degree. There he met his lifelong love, Judith Cameron. She was getting a degree in music education and was from Tennessee, and the daughter of a Micro biologist.
Daniel’s mother made sure Daniel and his brothers David and James went to church. That connection to God was the bond that would keep Daniel and Judith together after their marriage on June 25, 1955.

Their first child Linda was born in 1957.  The family headed to Dundee Illinois, and he began a teaching career and Judith taught piano students.  Rick was born in 1959 followed by Lisa in 1964.

They moved about 2 hours south and in 1973 he began working for the US Postal Service. By 1975, with his daughter Linda marrying Tim Morris, he and Judy wanted more and more to serve His Lord. While always active in their church, they started going to a bible study. This led to his relocating himself, Judy, Rick and Lisa to Virginia then Vermont.  His other children married there, Rick to Teri Lynn and Lisa to Dan Mulligan.

Dan and Judy always had hospitality in their home, and in 1990 established the Creamery Inn Bed and Breakfast in Cabot hosting many people over the years. There were friends from those days who still came to stay with them even after they retired from the” B and B” in 2000.  

Daniel leaves behind his wife, 3 children, their spouses, 23 Grandchildren  54 Great grandchildren , 1 Great Great Grandchild and many grateful people who he has helped over the years.
He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family at the age of 91.

​​Services will be held at the Christ Covenant Church, 167 Creamery Street, Marshfield, VT 05658.  Visitation will begin at 12:15pm at the church and the funeral will begin at 1pm followed by interment at Christ Covenant Church Cemetery.  A reception in Daniel's honor will follow his burial.
